We are delighted to announce that La Verrière, following in Chêne Bleu’s footsteps, has been awarded the prestigious Butterfly Mark Certification from Positive Luxury!
This hard-to-achieve award serves as an accreditation acknowledging the highest standards of sustainability present in all areas of a luxury business - environmental, social and innovation. La Verrière’s scorecard excelled particularly in biodiversity, DEI (diversity, equality and inclusion), and health & safety. La Verrière is a collaborative effort driven by a shared ethos of sustainable excellence - hence the estate’s motto: Non Mihi, Non Tibi, Sed Nobis (Latin for 'not mine, not yours but ours).
The Positive Luxury certification process was co-founded by Diana Verde Nieto, an Al Gore acolyte and Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum, who is an inspirational change-maker on the global Climate action stage, and Karen Hanton MBE, a Scottish Entrepreneur. The award is overseen by a team of passionate advocates for sustainability and social issues, aiming to use their platform as a means of transforming the luxury industry through helping an ever-expanding cohort of Real Changemakers to continually raise the bar of what it means to be a sustainable business.
“La Verrière is leading the way in environmental conservation through actionable change” Amy Nelson-Bennett, CEO of Positive Luxury
We’re proud to have met Positive Luxury’s exacting standards but are committed to going further. As Xavier Rolet said: “It is our duty to make sure that the Domaine is managed well, to share it and to pass it on in good health to future generations.” Developing a sustainable future requires continued innovative action and a commitment to long-term investment over short-term wins.
This ethos is at the core of everything we do at La Verrière - we’re in it for the long haul!
